About me
Quinn is a passionate music educator in Alberta. She grew up surrounded by music, beginning with early childhood music classes, church music, and private piano lessons. In junior high, she joined the band class and learned to play the flute. It was during her high school career that Quinn decided that she was meant to teach band. In university, she joined the University of Alberta Mixed Chorus and the Faculty of Education Handbell Ringers, under the direction of Dr. Bob DeFrece. After graduation, she took her first teaching job in Elk Point, Alberta where she taught elementary music, joined a seniors choir and a community handbell group. It was during her second trip to Music Conference Alberta that she knew that she had to get back to her dream of teaching band. So, after three years, she left her job (without another job lined up) and took a chance. At the end of that summer, Quinn landed a job teaching gr 7-12 band, along with the dogs breakfast of other courses in Westlock and hasn't looked back since.
