About me
After receiving her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Microbiology and Biotechnology, Julie entered the Faculty of Education at the University of Alberta to pursue her teaching career. She has been teaching with Edmonton Public Schools since 2002 and has developed a passion for incorporating authentic, project-based learning experiences in her classroom. Julie thrives on collaboration and sharing resources with teachers across the country. Alongside her colleague, Amanda Green, Julie is a proud recipient of the 2022 Prime Minister's Award for Teaching Achievement in STEM, the 2018 ATA Science Council Outstanding Science Teacher Award and the 2021 Learning For Sustainable Future's Earth Steward Teaching Award.
