About me
Goota Desmarais, from Cape Dorset, Nunavut, experienced a unique upbringing, spending winters in a modern Inuit settlement and summers in a traditional camp. Now residing in Sherwood Park, Alberta, she stays connected to her heritage through regular visits. Through her business, Inuit Connections, Goota has spent over 20 years educating about Nunavut and Inuit culture. Currently, she collaborates with the Alberta Teacher’s Association on the Indigenous Advisory Circle, continuing her mission to bridge cultural understanding.
