About me
Andrew (he/him) is currently the lead teacher for the GSA at W. D. Cuts Jr. High in St. Albert, a member of the SOGI group for St. Albert Public Schools, and has been running GSA's in one form or another since 2009. Andrew is one of the co-chairs for the St. Albert Local No. 73 Rainbow Network Educators’ GSA, a founding member of the Alberta Teachers’ Association Gender and Sexuality Alliance (ATA GSA), and runs the Rainbow Network newsletter serving Edmonton and greater Alberta. Andrew is a Stonewall Award recipient from the Intl. Day of Pink organisation for 2SLGBTQIA+ advocacy, education, representation & celebration. In 2023 Andrew was the lead classroom teacher in helping to create and pilot St. Albert Public’s 2SLGBTQIA+ Perspectives 7-8-9 option course, believed to be the first of its kind in Canada. Andrew lives in Edmonton with his wife, and can regularly be found in the river valley on his bike or struggling on a wall at a bouldering gym.
