Democracy Bootcamp 2025 will be an inspiring day of hands-on workshops and expert insights on Canadian politics that will equip you with powerful tools to teach students the skills of active and informed citizenship.

***This session takes place at Barnett House (11010 142 St NW, Edmonton)

Sessions will include:
  1. New tools to teach AI literacy and verification skills (new CTRL-F unit). 
  2. Preview of resources for the next federal election and strategies to support school-wide engagement (Student Vote). 
  3. Resources to teach about cognitive biases and facilitate discussions about political issues (PoliTalks). 
  4. A new experiential learning game designed to enhance students’ civic deliberation and decision-making competencies through a simulated community consultation.
  5.  An expert panel discussion about challenges facing democracy, including polarization, disinformation and distrust. 
Enjoy a complimentary lunch, refreshments, and free printed resources to support classroom instruction. Space is limited.
